- wpd continues to grow in key markets for wind and solar energy
- wpd concludes refinancing of Taiwanese Luwei and Chungwei onshore wind farms
2022
wpd receives concessions for the development of onshore projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina
2021
- wpd completes wind farm Torozos in Spain with about 170 MW
2020
- wpd awards Nordex Group contract for 188 MW in Finland
2019
- Björn Nullmeyer becomes new member of wpd AG’s Management Board
- wpd is establishing itself as a part-ner for PPAs in Finland and Sweden
2016
- Tender contract awarded for 350 megawatts for onshore wind farm in Chile
2015
- Company’s own portfolio of wind farms crosses the 1,000 megawatts mark
2014
- wpd commissions its first two projects in Canada, and also starts construction of a major project in Finland
2011
Stadtwerke München takes a 33 percent stake in wpd europe GmbH; the international onshore activities in Europe and Canada are consolidated in this wpd subsidiary
2006
wpd acquires EnerSys GmbH; this leads to acceleration of international project development; Managing Director of EnerSys, Dr. Hartmut Brösamle, is appointed to the Board of wpd AG
2005
- wpd enters the world of international project financing with a 50 megawatts project in Taiwan
- Wind turbines with more than 1,000 MW are installed by wpd
