As one of the market’s leading developers and operators of wind farms in Europe and further important international markets, wpd will be back at WindEnergy in Hamburg from 24 to 27 September. With numerous project successes and a strong project pipeline, wpd’s presence at the leading international trade fair for the wind energy sector is typified by stimulating dialog with familiar and new business contacts.

We are on a stable growth trajectory and we operate from 19 offices throughout Germany in addition to our engagement in 31 countries around the world. This is reflected in a strong pipeline of more than 19 gigawatts of onshore wind energy of which almost 15,000 MW is attributable to Europe and over 4,300 MW to Asia, North and South America.

In Germany, the political roadmap which envisages faster, more dynamic expansion of renewables is having an impact. At wpd, we are also noticing the marked upturn in the trend. Permits are being issued more speedily, and more projects are entering the tender process. For example, we currently have 6,000 MW of projects in varying phases of planning in Germany.

We look to the future with corresponding optimism. At the same time, we are steadily expanding our own portfolio of wind farms thanks to the new dynamic in the market. We currently have 3,200 MW in the portfolio – a strong foundation for further growth of the business.

“At WindEnergy, we are looking forward both to expanding partnerships and alliances and to enjoying many technical discussions on marketing renewable energy projects. The political exchange with regard to the future design of the electricity market will also be important. We continue to need stable framework conditions for further growth in Germany”, states Hartmut Brösamle, CEO of wpd.

Thanks to its successful implementation of PPA projects and its strong expertise in direct marketing, wpd has in the past positioned itself as a reliable partner in the market. Most recently, the collaboration between wpd and ArcelorMittal, one of the world’s leading steel companies, initiated an important step towards climate-neutral steel production at the Bremen facility.

“For us, our trade fair stand in Hamburg offers us an outstanding opportunity to present ourselves as an employer. Our teams are growing rapidly at all facilities and we continue to see a need for both specialists and specifically lateral entrants. Our HR team is looking forward to stimulating discussions on both Recruiting Days on 26 and 27 September where we will be represented with our own wpd stand in Hall B3.OG, Stand RD.215”, states Björn Nullmeyer, CEO of wpd GmbH.
